Hispanic Culture Awareness for Professionals
Hispanic Source provides training in Hispanic culture to health care providers, managers, sales and marketing staff, and other professionals. Our programs teach the cultural knowledge and communication skills that enable successful interactions with Hispanics in the United States.
For example, current research shows that health outcomes improve for Hispanics when health care providers understand the Hispanic culture and its health practices.
Live Sessions and Customized Webinars
We offer our training in several formats, including half-day interactive workshops, webinars, and lectures, so that you can choose the format most suitable to your organization’s schedule and training needs. We also provide consulting services to help you develop your own in-house Hispanic culture training.

What is Cultural Competence?
Cultural competence is the ability of a person from one culture to understand, communicate, and provide quality services to people from another culture. In short, it is the ability to work cross-culturally. Cultural competence is demonstrated by:
- Valuing the other group’s cultural differences and
- Integrating the group’s cultural attitudes, beliefs, and practices into one’s interactions with its members.
For example, in health care, cultural differences between Hispanics and health care providers from other cultures can present challenges in:
- How illness, disease, and their causes are perceived
- The attitudes of Hispanic patients toward the health care provider
- A patient’s compliance with treatment plans
Hispanic Source provides training and consulting services that help build cultural competence in your organization.
