Our Background
HISPANIC SOURCE is dedicated to cultural competency training for health care and multicultural work environments. We are a practice area of CONARO Associates, which develops learning solutions for improved workplace performance. For 20 years we have trained managers, executives, and frontline employees in health care, manufacturing, and consumer services.
Our training courses focus on skills building to change employee behavior related to performance. We go beyond the traditional classroom format and include web based learning systems or interactive sessions with professional actors. Our work is highly regarded, with participants scoring our work on average 4.5 on a 5-point scale. We have experience working with people of nearly every nationality and ethnicity on the globe.
Mariita Arosemena Conley, Founder
Mariita Arosemena Conley, MA, founded CONARO Associates to help employers interact effectively with multicultural populations. Her training programs have been called “powerful and dynamic.” Her programs provide practical tools for workplace challenges. Mariita has worked throughout Latin America in over 15 countries and in major Hispanic markets in the United States. She has designed and delivered training programs on customer service, team building, workplace safety, diversity, and leadership.
Mariita has more than 25 years of experience in business, government, and consulting. She is past executive director of a major corporate foundation and has managed corporate government affairs. Mariita served as Deputy Commissioner for the City of Chicago in Employment and Training. She started her career as a staff researcher on immigrant labor issues for Dr. Ray Marshall, former U.S. Secretary of Labor.
Mariita has a BA from Purdue University, an MA in Economics from the University of Texas, and studied in the MBA program at the University of Chicago. Raised in Central America and the United States, she has served on the boards of dozens of community based organizations serving Hispanics including: Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE), Mujeres Latinas en Accion, and Greater Chicago Food Depository. Mariita’s mentor and husband was the late Richard Evans III, MD, MPH, professor emeritus at Northwestern University School of Medicine.
